Zack Snyder has given his fans all the goods recently. In addition to the long-awaited “Snyder Cut” from “Justice League” coming next year, HBO Max has now released “Ultimate Edition” of the director’s critically-penned “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” and there’s a new poster to go with it .
The ultimate release of “Batman v Superman” adds half an hour’s extended and deleted scenes to the film, making it more violent than the PG-13 theatrical clip but also fixes many of the complaints that critics and fans had about the story. While the new version maintains Snyder’s polarizing darker portraits of Batman and Superman, it is considered a marked improvement over the version that hit theaters in March 201

To honor the release, Snyder displayed a new poster with Ben Affleck’s Batman during one of the more well-received moments in “BvS”: the Knightmare scene. The apocalyptic vision of a future in which Batman leads an army in a desperate defense against an evil Superman sent fans into a frenzy of theory formation, especially as it teased the future of DC supervillain Darkseid, who will appear in Snyder Cut. Batman’s dust-covered, rusting supporting figure was the basis for the “Ultimate Edition” poster, which featured the tagline: “Of course he is real. He is on HBO Max.“
“Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition” is now available to stream. “Justice League: Snyder Cut” will be released on HBO Max 2021.
