Woody Allen & Amazon Reach Settlement I $ 69M Lawsuit – Deadline

With a new movie that fetched steam for offices abroad, Woody Allen has ended his $ 68 million lawsuit against Amazon.

The Jeff Bezos-based studio and the Oscar-winning director submitted paperwork late last night that ended the almost year-old legal action. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but sources close to the situation tell me, "there were no winners in the end."

The violation agreement stemmed from Amazon's cancellation of Allen's four-image agreement at the heart of the #MeToo movement. Allen sued in February, claiming that Amazon was unilaterally banned from the deal because of allegations from his estranged daughter, Dylan Farrow, that he had abused her when she was seven years old. Allen has long denied the charges and has not been facing any criminal charges as a result of investigations into her claims.

The Allen lawsuit claimed that Amazon knew about the allegations and owed him $ 68 million in guaranteed payments. The studio canceled the launch of its movie from 201

8, A Rainy Day in New York, and dropped plans for three more.
