The snow through the day Saturday will be easy in the afternoon. Light snow showers and even some pockets in a winter blend are possible in the afternoon.
WARNINGS AND WARNINGS
Snow and snow increase in coverage again Saturday night with areas west of Interstate 77 (McDowell, Wyoming, Tazewell). For our western counties (McDowell, Buchanan, Wyoming) and also parts of Raleigh and Mercer counties will be mixed with snow and rain. Rainfall is likely to remain all snow for Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Summers, Monroe and Giles County.
Rainfall will start to spread on Sunday morning with a little light snow, winter Mix or even rainbows possible sometimes Sunday.
Winter Storm Warning: Mercer, Summers, Monroe, Greenbrier, Giles, South East Raleigh, South East Fayette and Pocahontas County 6 am Saturday to 19:00 Sunday. We expect between 4-7 inch snow with a nice and freezing rain mixture sometimes. Locally higher amounts are possible, especially if no snow mixes with the snow.
Winter Storm Warning: Tazewell, Bland and Wythe counties by 7pm Sunday. Snow and string collections between 1-4 inches, with up to 0.20 "ice.
Winter weather advice: Northwest Raleigh, Northwest Fayette, Wyoming, McDowell from 6 am Saturday to noon Sunday. snow with a little bit of ice accumulation possible. Rain will mix faster in these areas, limiting snow and sledding
