Who is Meghan Markle's mother and why do we not hear more from her?

Now that Meghan Markle is a mother, she gets even closer with her own mother. Raising a family can have that effect on a person. Suddenly, family relationships become even more important.

With Mother's Day just around the corner, we have been a little curious about Meghan Markle's mother: Doria Ragland. Since baby Archie has made its appearance, it is clear that Megan's mother will have a greater role in her life and may appear more regularly in the king's scene.

Meghan's parents divorced when she was a young girl, so even though her father was part of her life, she was raised by her mother, Doria Ragland. Doria has spent a career in social work, Meghan taught the importance of giving back and being socially aware.

Doria, who has also spent time in her career as a yoga instructor, was the only member of Megan's family who attended royal weddings. Since Megan's marriage to Harry, Doria has been a regular supporter of the couple. She has made several trips to U.K. and sources near the royal family say they are currently looking for a home for Ragland in the UK so that she can spend more time near her new grandchild, Archie.

Why does Doria Ragland keep out of the press?

While Megan's father has not been shy to talk to the press or pay attention to himself, we do not often hear from Doria because she always has Meghan's best interest in soul and heart. In fact, Doria has been very good at keeping out of the limelight and from the press.

Therefore, Doria has been consistently invited to participate in royal events, which are included on holidays and currently spend time with the new parents. During the past year, the Queen even invited Doria to spend Christmas with the royal family, an invitation that is rarely extended to outsiders and has apparently never been extended to Middletons.

Megan's mother has obviously been completely thought of by the royal family, in stark contrast to how her father was received. This is clear because of how her father behaves. (He has had exclusive interviews with the press, even when Meghan has asked him not to).

What are the royal expectations?

Doria has been involved in so many royal events now she becomes an expert on knowing how the royal family expect their action. We suspect that is why Meghan is much closer to her mother than her father these days. In fact, Doria currently lives with the new parents, in her home in Windsor, to help take care of the new royal baby and the recovering new momma.

Doria Ragland's Relationship to the Royal before the Child's Arrival

Doria has been in London for some time and helps Meghan and Harry prepare their home and their lives for the arrival of their first-born son. Meghan has been "so happy" to have her mother's help during this time. As a newlywed couple, Meghan and Harry have overcome their share of changes in their lives, but nothing beats how a new baby changes the status quo. A new baby can be both exciting and stressful, so Meghan has been grateful to have her mother near her page.

Apart from the overwhelming support received by worldwide fans at Duke and Dutchess's Instagram account, baby Archie will be surrounded by their loved ones during their first days of life.

Doria Ragland as Grandma

Doria helps Meghan with baby Archie during her first weeks of life. She has been reported to be over the moon of Archie's arrival, as most new grandmothers are.

We expect to see more of Doria in the future as she makes her place among our favorite royal family members.
