Weeknd became a little emotional at Coachella on Friday.
The 28-year-old singer took the stage as the festival's day a headlining action and appeared in tears during his performances of "Call Out My Name" and "Privilege."
The tracks were both dropped as part of his sex song EP, "My Dear Melancholy" last month – and both seem to be about his relationship with Selena Gomez. The couple was dated for 10 months before joining October in October.
"Call Out My Name" seems to be full of Gomez references, as The Weeknd sings, "We found each other / I helped you from a broken place / You gave me comfort / But it was my mistake to fall for you "before opening on the" rough "times and referring to Gomez kidney transplant.
And in "Privilege", the GRAMMY winner seems to sing about their eruptions.
"Enjoy your privileged life /" Because I do not stay through the night / We said our last farewell / so let's just try to finish it with a smile / And I do not want to hear you're suffering, "he croons before he goes on. " And I feel the pain gone and I know I'll be okay / They said that our love is just a game, I do not care what they say / but I'm pulling the pain away, I get back to my old ways / and I got two red pills to take blues away.
Fans were quick to comment on The Weeknd's emotional performance, with many who extended their support.
