Bezos sold more than $ 3 billion in Amazon shares – the Treasury



Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos sold more than $ 3.1 billion worth of shares in his company this week, CNBC reported, citing applications from the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The sale was reportedly part of a prepared sales plan. Earlier this year, he sold more than $ 4.1 billion in the company’s shares.

What is known about the sale

Bezos still owns over 54 million shares worth over $ 170 billion, making him the richest man in the world.

By comparison, the businessman sold $ 2.8 billion worth of shares in 2019. Bezos has said he sells about $ 1

billion worth of Amazon shares a year to finance his space company Blue Origin.

The sale came a week after Bezos testified before the House of Representatives’ antitrust subcommittee, which is concerned about the growing power of large technology companies, along with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.
