Last month, Ubisoft released a tool that allows players to create their own missions in Assassin's Creed Odyssey . Players can choose to have other players' customized missions appear in their games. Almost immediately a mess of missions intended for fast-burning power leveling came. "For themselves" you can say about this dubious exercise, but Ubisoft has decided to put down his battle-sandal-dressed Greek foot and ban missions that are simply about simple XP increase.
For example, these custom missions would throw NPCs to instantly kill an enemy for the player, giving them experience in seconds. The players can then repeat this process, win sweet, sweet XP until all their dreams become true. Now, about a month later, Ubisoft has announced in a foremost post that these types of false missions are no longer tolerated.
"These exploits run the risk of jeopardizing the overall quality, integrity and purpose of Story Creator Mode and result in less visibility to the creative, interesting, and incredibly amazing community stories published," reads a note from Assassin's Creed community and development law.
It is worth noting that this exploitation may have come close to home, as Odyssey was launched with a series of costly micro-transactions, which included XP and money. They are still available with others who have come since then. However, the company has not mentioned it with regard to these player-created assignments. Instead, it focuses on its messages of creating an environment where elaborate stories of gods, men and in a story discovered by Kotaku s Joshua Rivera, Sith Lords can thrive.
"Story Creator Mode was designed to be a tool for players to let creativity and imagination be free because they build their own stories to share with others," says Ubisoft. "We want to focus on rewarding creativity by highlighting quality mission."
