Type 2 diabetes can lead to serious health conditions, such as nerve damage, kidney problems, and cardiovascular disease if left untreated, so it is important to take appropriate measures to prevent it from developing. A study from Aarhus University Hospital in Denmark found that HIIT can play a role in reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes by keeping the blood sugar level within a healthy range.
HIIT, which stands for High Intensity Interval Training, is a form of interval training as alternative short periods of intensive anaerobic training with less intensive recovery periods.
Trainer Zana Morris revealed other benefits of making HIIT.
She told Waitrose & Partners magazine: "The short cracks with training of High Intensity Training make it easy to fit a workout in a busy week, but the benefits do not stay there.
" It is also one of the fastest ways to increase strength and endurance while building lean body mass and burning fat.
"A study by researchers at McMaster University in Canada actually found that three 20-minute sessions of intensive weekly exercise (working at 85 percent of your maximum heart rate) can provide the same benefits as ten hours of stable exercise over a two-week period.
"High-intensity workouts cause massive disturbances in your muscle fibers, and this increases your metabolism for anywhere from two to 24 hours after you have exercised.
"That means your body continues to burn a little more fat even when you are resting."
Losing weight, especially if you are overweight, will help your body lower blood sugar levels, as well as improve your blood pressure and cholesterol, the NHS says.
A poor diet can also lead to the development of type 2 diabetes and while there is nothing you cannot eat if you have the condition, the health body recommends that you limit certain foods.
It is recommended: "Eat a wide variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables and some starch products such as pasta." "Keep sugar, fat and salt to a minimum.

A new study showed that an egg consumes every day seems to associate with a blood metabolite profile that is related to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes  The study conducted by the University of Eastern Finland found that blood samples of men who ate several eggs contained certain lipid molecules that positively correlated with the blood profile of men who were free of type 2 diabetes.
