Trump says he will not sign the GOP immigration bill that would disconnect families at the border

House Republican leaders released text of the highly anticipated compromise action Thursday afternoon to their members. The House is scheduled to vote on legislation next week, in addition to a more conservative proposition sponsored by the House Judiciary Committee, Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.

The White House has recently been criticized for its "zero tolerance policy" to punish criminal offenders illegally bound to the border, which has resulted in the separation of children from their parents at the border.

On Friday, Trump said that while he "hated" that children were separated from their parents, it was wrong with democratic legislators, not himself ̵

1; a false statement he has been made several times.

"I hate children taken away," he told reporters at the White House lawn. "It's Democrats."

"That's what the Democrats gave us," he said.

Republicans control the White House and both chambers of Congress. The current law prohibits not to divorce children from their parents, and it is not a policy. Democrats have driven or may change as the minority party in Congress.

Crossing the border illegally is a breach of the first crime and when the parents owe ports in federal prison and are separated from their children.
