Truckee Meadows Fire operates four elders of fire



RENO, Nev. (COLUMN) – Crews fight for several fires caused by lightning strikes during Saturday's heavy rain over Truckee Meadows, according to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.

Two of the fires are located within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, estimated at 150 acres. Kiowa Fire is located in the Kiowa Pond area of ​​Peavine's eastern side; Hog Fire is also located on the eastern side of Peavine. Each is about 15%.

TMFPD says there are also two fires in the Antelope Valley area north of Reno. one is over seven acres, and no area is available to the other. Firefighters say they have a good handle on both sides and will fool overnight.

No evacuations required some of the fires and no structures have burned so far.

There have been other fires in the Reno area -Stead Airport and throughout Washoe County.
