Star quarterback Tom Brady will not be present at openly organized teamwork for New England Patriots, starting on Monday according to several reports.
Although Brady has skipped the rest of New England's offseason program this year, OTA's start, or phase 3 of the offseason program, lacks more significance. Sessions are still volunteers, but it's basically the first time players can come together as a team to run through soccer-specific exercises. Contact is still prohibited in phase three, but teams can start training 7-to-7, 9-to-7 and 11-to-11-drills.
The stages one and two of the offseason program are largely based on strength and conditioning, and any on-field instruction is limited to an individual basis.
Brady had been a regular presence at New England's OTAs earlier but his absence this offseason could be due to ongoing tensions between the quarterback and the team's front office MORE: Cowboys recipient Terrance Williams arrested for car crash

April 30 at the Milken Institute Global Conference in California, Brady declared – which will be 41 in August – his lack of participation in Patriot's offseason program as a chance to spend more time with his family and as an opportunity to return "really rejuvenated" for next season.
At the event, Brady committed to play during the 2018 season.
He continues to be among NFL's top runners, and came from a season where he finished 66.3% of his passports for 4,577 yards and 32 touchdowns, compared to eight interceptions.
