Rangers 5, Astros 0

  • It's a great way to get back from Break.
  • Lance Lynn Experience continues to surprise and amaze. Against a strong Astros team, Lynn worked the first few innings, and there was some reason to ask how deeply into the game he could go. As it turns out, the answer was 7 shutout innings, with 6 hits, 2 walks and a lot of 11 strikeouts. Lynn's ERA is down to 3.69 a year.
  • Jose Leclerc hit a pointless 8th and Chris Martin struck a pointless 9th in relief and kept drama minimized.
  • Texas skipped Houston starting Framber Valdez and chased him with two outs in the first innings after beating and scoring four runs. Chris Devenski came in and retired Shin-Soo Choo with the bases loaded to finish the first, and Texas only once did the rest of the way.
  • Rougned Odor picked up where he left before the break, doubled twice and went. Shin-Soo Choo also had a couple of hits and a walk, and every other Ranger had a hit.
  • Three more to go in the series, but Texas has set a good early ton today.
