It is not every day that a female rapper and her mother share the same talent.
Megan's first introduction to the rap world grew up watching her mother, who went by the stage name "Holly-Wood."
In an interview with VIBE Magazine, Megan reflected on getting a crash course when reporting from his mother.
A young Megan often followed her mother until late at night. Inspired by her mother's work, she secretly began writing her own reports before revealing her mother's talent. They soon began working on her career together, and when Megan's career began, Thomas was right by her side. Megan would even ask her mom to perform with her sometimes.

Thomas supported Megan's passion for music early, but she made sure her daughter knew she needed a formal education to have something to fall back on. So she insisted that Megan pursue her rap dreams until she turned 21.
When Megan was officially legal, she had her mother's full support in the form of a boss.

By keeping her promise to her mother, Megan is enrolled in the Texas Southern University health administration program. While Megan does not plan to use her degree to become a nurse, as most would do within the health administration. She plans to use it to open assistant housing in her hometown of Houston after graduation.
"When I started to become extremely popular with my music, I knew I probably wouldn't go to medical school," she explained.
