The governor of Georgia is ignoring all local worms in the state

The Georgian government Brian Kemp (R) is banning local municipalities across the state from mandating that masks be worn in public to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.

Kemps’ executive order issued Wednesday prevents local authorities from enforcing mandatory face-offs that cover orders that are more restrictive than the current state order. The move actually invalidated orders issued by at least 15 local authorities across the state, according to the Associated Press.

Instead of introducing a mandatory requirement, Kemp̵

7;s order states that residents and visitors to the state “are strongly encouraged to wear facial coatings as much as possible” when in public, except when eating, drinking or exercising outdoors.

Candice Broce, a spokesman for the governor, doubled on the governor’s position that local orders are “not enforceable.”

“Previous executive orders – and now this order – state that no local document can be more or less restrictive than ours. We have explained that local masking mandates cannot be enforced. The governor continues to strongly encourage Georgians to wear masks in public, “Broce tweeted.

Kemps order that prevents local orders comes as more governors implement state-mandated mandatory face-to-face claims as the number of coronavirus cases continues to grow across large parts of the United States

Alabama Governor Kay Ivey (R) announced such a mandatory order on Wednesday, citing a 50 percent increase in new COVID-19 cases.
