Tech Trends And The Jobs They’ll Create In 2019

Every year articles will be written to discuss the latest tech trends, but as technology continues to advance at break neck speed, it’s likely that some of these trends will have already been replaced by others. In recent times we have witnessed the astronomical rise of online gaming where it is now the norm to play battle royale games all night or visit an online casino to fine tune your blackjack skills on live dealer tables. But it does not stop there, as now everything is taking place on mobile devices, in a world seemingly made up of mobile apps.

So, what can we expect the future to be like in terms of tech and what job opportunities will it bring? Here we have highlighted three exciting aspects that are on the horizon and are set to influence our lives.

Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of Things, often referred to as IoT, is very much the future as it allows numerous items such as smartphones, cars and lighting to all be linked together thanks to the internet. There were in excess of 8 billion IoT devices in existence back in 201

7, and it’s expected that this figure will climb to around 20 billion in 2020.

IoT presents a lot of job opportunities for IT professionals, and believe it or not, there are going to be plenty of jobs for a while as there are currently not enough IT workers trained in this area specifically. From IT security through to device knowledge, there are opportunities galore.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, has been around for many years, but its impact is continuing to grow stronger by the day. AI has the potential to effect how people live and work, amongst other things, and you could say that we’re still in the very early stages when it comes to implementing it in full.

What AI will undoubtedly do is eliminate jobs in certain industries and sectors as processes become automated. But that isn’t the full story, as AI will also create jobs, an estimated 20 million plus by 2020. So, if you’re a developer, programmer, tester and the like, there will likely be job opportunities, and they are also perfect for graduates too.

Blockchain

Many people could be fooled into believing that blockchain technology is all about cryptocurrencies and being able to use Bitcoin on Amazon, but there’s so much more to it than that. Blockchain technology, which sees a chain of data formed, one of which can only be added to, is having a huge impact in multiple sectors and industries right now, and its presence is only going to increase as time goes on. In a way, it’s the security which blockchain tech provides which is why in such high demand.

There has been reports that suggest there’s a huge demand for blockchain related professionals, with developers the most highly sought after. There are plenty of other roles within this rapidly growing industry too, with consultants, software developers and engineers and project managers also in high demand.

There are many tech trends out there right now, but these three are by far and away the most popular and the ones that are here to stay. They also present great opportunities when it comes to jobs too, not just for professionals and skilled workers, but for graduates and people currently studying as well.
