Study: If you get used to it, you sleep better

A sound sleep is extremely important. But often the duration or quality of sleep leaves much to be desired. The reasons for this may include stress or consumption of TV and mobile phones before going to bed. But there is another surprising thing that can affect the quality of sleep. Researchers at the University of Illinois have studied sleep patterns for more than 3,500 people between 32 and 51 years. They have analyzed their characteristics and habits and found that those who behave the same way slept much better.

Optimism Gives Better Sleep

The results of the study actually showed that optimistic people slept better and longer than others. On average, the level of "optimism" was 78 percent higher for people who are (almost) always good and sleep well enough than people who are more negative. Optimistic individuals reported that they slept between six and nine hours a night on average without interruption.

"Poor sleep quality is associated with many health problems, including a higher risk of obesity or high blood pressure," explains Prof. Rosalba Hernandez, creator of the study, said: "Optimism has clearly emerged as a psychological benefit that is especially important for disease-free living and improved health."

So it's worth it to go around the world a little more positively, because it not only provides better sleep, but also for more happiness in everyday life.
