In the National League, only Ambri-Piotta is currently building on a Swiss coach. Why is it
Lars Leuenberger, Kevin Schläpfer, Christian Weber or of course the legend Arno del Curto: Swiss coaches have been in the right way in the National League in recent years. This has changed over time. Since del Curto in HC Davos, only one Swiss coach in the highest league is Ambris Luca Cereda. Ex-Lugano coach Patrick Fischer has at least taken it to national coach.
Only one or two live
U20-Naticoach Christian Wohlwend criticizes this development. Foreigners would be considered much less critical than the locals: "As a Swiss you can have one or two lives, then you no longer get a chance," says Grison.
Objections in Biel and Bern
Biels sports director Martin Steinegger admits that North Americans would be better off selling than Swiss. And Bern's defender Eric Blum says that Swiss coaches – even for historical reasons – actually have to prove more than their colleagues from abroad or Scandinavia.
