“FameMaker” (ProSieben): Right from the start, the jury pays off

Trust, who ?! Who has it, who just looks like it? Not an easy task for the jury members on “FameMaker” (ProSieben), the new Stefan Raab show. © 1 & 1 Mail & Media / teleschau

Tomorrow’s star or rivet? It is this question that the three jurors asked themselves at the beginning of “FameMaker” (ProSieben) with 17 candidates. In the “reverse” version of “Voice Of Germany” (also ProSieben), they only had to judge talents based on their visual impressions – they could not hear the candidates. So in the soundproof dome there were kind of hiking bags to sing.

And who invented the “dome show”? Not Swiss but Stefan Raab. But he did not show up, just sat in the direction of “eating chips. The fat pig!” Joked the voice from the beginning. At the front were Luke Mockridge, Carolin Kebekus and Teddy Teclebrhan (from left) as jury members.

“I want you!” Luke decided shortly after the first seconds of Chris Fandrey’s appearance: “This is a star!” He therefore pulled on his brake lever (which is what the buzzer is for “VoG”) and had his first team member. And lucky. Chris dances better than he sings. But, according to moderator Tom Neuwirth, “the overall package is very promising”.

Luke was enthusiastic about the appearance of Alexandra Leonhard, but suspicious: “If she could sing too, it would be too good to be true.” Alex’s goal is to “become famous”, but singing does not make her do it. No one pulled the lever. Teddy after the “unveiling”: “Are you planning to sing?” Alex said “No!” And everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Teddy (“She can do it!”) Pulled for Valerie Edzane (38) – and grabbed it completely wrong. Valerie self-critical: “I do not sing. With my voice it would be physical harm.” Moderator Tom (known as Conchita Wurst in another life): “But she has charisma.” And that’s exactly what Teddy fell for. Luke scornfully: “You can already book the Cologne.”

When she pulled Moritz Kochs (19), Caroline was the fastest. And her intuition did not fail her: “It was amazing,” she rightly said. The music student from Augsburg flashed everyone with his extremely cool version of “Stolen Dance” by Milky Chance. “What an amazing voice,” Carolin cheered.

Music detective Carolin was also right with Nina “La Vida” lamps (42) – and did not pull! “I’m afraid this will happen. I have a hit allergy.” Good: “La Vida” bothered “My heart is burning”. That no one chose her was not so bad. She got to sing a self-composed hit.

“Uh! Good woman!” Carolin has only a hint and is quick to react. She pulled faster than the guys. Luke (“Fuuuuck!”) And Teddy were annoyed that they missed Karolin “Cage” Gärtner (25) as a team member. Cage sang Beyoncé (“Freedom”) and Caroline freaked out. “She sings Beyoncé! What big eggs does she bring here ?!”

Joachim Heinrich’s (27) companion attached great importance to the fact that she was only “one” and not “” friend’s friend under the dome. Luke: “Did you send him to the friend zone?” Yes she has! After Joachim’s performance, it was a good courage. Luke: “I felt like your girlfriend: you almost had me.” But only almost. No one moved.

Michelle “Liah” Hoffmann (31) blinked and glittered like a “cell phone store” (Luke). It distracted the jurors. They suspected more appearance than reality. Bad luck! Originally, three American stars sang “Bang Bang” with Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj – Liah did the song alone! The jury apologized. “We made a mega mistake!”

“It’s really possible! This is Death Metal!”, Luke shouted enthusiastically and pulled the lever. But Louisa “Lou” Büchner is not a professional singer, she is a sex therapist, and her “Open Your Eyes” (Guano Apes) meant her first appearance. Not every first time there is a climax. But Luke has hope: “Let me just do it.”

“I’m too in love!” Teddy pressured Gerry Grimme because his daughter was “so cute”. When Dad could be heard, Teddy froze. Gerry (“It was the worst I’ve ever sung”), who only registers that his daughter Pia is a big Luke fan, was surprised by the progress. Teddy: “We’re doing something cool together.” Gerry: “Really?”

Bold clothes, but also a good voice? Luke pulled the lever for Sebastian Schmidt (26). As the dome rose, he exclaimed, “Yes, he can sing!” And then, professionally: “The visual has been further enhanced by the acoustic.” Carolin saw Luke’s motivations elsewhere: “Luke thought, ‘No pants, I want it!'”

Kevin “Maeck” Meyer (29) gave the jury members guidance on “Ding Dong”. Model athlete (“I’m a poser”) used to describe intercourse, because that’s what his self-composed song “Bootie Call” is about, which he rapped. His topless rap, however, was disturbing: No one pulled the long lever for the handsome man.

“Oh, am I next?” Nico Garms (27), stage name “Uff” (but please breathe easy!) Could hardly believe it himself. But it was true. Teddy had been seduced – and after the “relaxation” he kept his composure with great effort. The song could not be recognized! Tom (“I love it, darling!”) Was impressed by the travesty artist.

The jury members held back with Larissa Planert (20) (Teddy: “I think she can do something, but I’m scared!”) – fortunately. Larissa presented “Hot2Touch” by Felix Jaehn, but not well: “I usually only sing in the shower.” But her sister was right: “She’s the best at dancing!

Michael Insinger (52) carries not only the music in his name but also on his arm: He is a passionate guitarist and travels the country as a street musician. “FameMaker” does not mean a long stop for him – no one pulled the lever for him. Luke regretted it: “I can bite my A … I’m ashamed.”

“It’s rap or a Yvonne Catterfeld ballad!” Luke first joked and then moved on to Saman Dawood (32). It turned out to be a bit of a singing human rhythm machine. Everyone was enthusiastic about his beatboxing. Luke was proud of his good catch at the end: “You are definitely the most climate-neutral artist. You just need a microphone.”

The second of four rounds begins on Saturday (September 19). Luke has so far received three, Teddy four and Carolin two talents to the team. Each will “attract” twelve candidates, four of whom will advance to the finals. There, the finalists appear before the finest jury of all: the TV audience, as the final is broadcast live.
