A giant manta ray was recorded as seeking help from a snorkel in Australia to remove metal hooks from her face.
Stunning footage showed the 10-foot sea animal attempt to alert snorkel instructor Jake Wilton, in Ningaloo Coast Reef near Western Australia, NBC News reported on Friday.
Manta ray, known by locals as Freckles, had large fishing hooks located near her right eye.
"It's very rare for an animal to turn around and come back to you and introduce itself," Wilton told NBC News. "So I knew as soon as she started interacting with us, it was something very special."
Wilton said he quickly realized that the seabed was in need of help ̵
"I was not. I really think about something other than trying to get them out," he said. "I really didn't want to mess it up."
British biologist Monty Halls, who filmed on May 24, said that manta ray turned out to have great confidence in the diver. "19659002]" I think Manta knew Jake was trying to get the hooks out, "Halls told NBC News.
