Stardew Valley’s next update adds the endgame content

If Stardew Valley were a flower, it would be a perennial that comes back every year with new blooms. Not long after releasing the massive 1.4 update that left a mark on every part of the game, developer ConcernedApe announced that he would be working on yet another free content update. For four years, he still has plans for new additions, which will include some endgame content for update 1

.5, he says.

ConcernedApe has a habit of being fairly quiet between updates, at least on Twitter. He shows up every two months to produce a nice little teaser like this one to show off something in the works for the next update.

It looks like Willy’s fish shop on the beach pier has a new back door. Where can it lead? Other locals in Pelican Town have bedrooms in their houses. I had always assumed that Willy had one at the top of the steps in her shop as a kind of hip loft area, but it doesn’t lead anywhere. Or maybe it is some other kind of secret place only after becoming good friends with the local fisherman.

Anyway, ConcernedApe says the new update will also add “a significant new piece of endgame content and much more”, but whether Willy’s new room is the playoff bit or something more I’m not sure.

Like cranberries in a greenhouse, Stardew Valley continues to sprout new fruit. Like literally. Fans already voted to add banana trees in the next update. Aside from this new teaser, that’s the only thing we’re sure will come in Stardew Valley 1.5.

At the moment, ConcernedApe says it’s coming steadily but is still in a “nose to the grindstone phase.” The gigantic 1.4 update was released on PC at the end of 2019, so it’s no surprise there is still a lot of work to do next.

In the meantime, you may want to examine your savings file with some of the best Stardew Valley modern ones, one of which should definitely be this new one that lets you swim all over the valley.
