A 47-year-old instructor has been critically injured after an air crash on a private airfield outside R515 in Rayton, Pretoria East on Sunday morning.
"Reports from the scene show that a bright airplane with two Adult men, an instructor and student came down after an obvious engine failure and knocked out," Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst said in a statement on Sunday.
When they arrived at the site just before dinner, the paramedical instructors found that the instructor demanded
The critically injured patient was rushed to the hospital for further medical care.
However, his student, 52, banned ambulance transport to the hospital, Herbst said.
"Circumstances leading up to the event will be investigated by the police," he added.
