The Paris police say several people have been injured in an explosion and fire in a bakery believed to be caused by a gas leak.
A police writer in Paris said the firefighters were at the blast on Saturday morning at the bakery on Rue Trevise in the 9th arrondissement of central Paris.
She said several injuries have been reported to the police but no deaths.
The spokesman, who was not authorized to be publicly named, provided no additional information. French television showed emergency vehicles surrounding the area. Photos shared on social media showed the area around Rue De Montyon covered with debris with a fire that raged in at least one building.
The explosion came in high security in Paris and in France because yellow west projects were expected later on Saturday.
