SEE IT: Philadelphia man fires fire by scaling at least 14 floors down the hill



A man fled a fire in Philadelphia on Thursday night by scaling at least 14 floors down one side of a residential building, reports reported.

Fire personnel answered around 9:30 pm to report that smoke was seen coming from the upper floors of a 19-storey rise in West Philadelphia.

Officials said the fire originated in the garbage on the first floor and rose up and caused great smoke to pour into the halls on the top floors, Philadelphia WPVI TV reported.

An unknown number of residents were removed in ambulances. At least four residents and at least three police officers were treated for inhalation of smoke, WPVI-TV was reported. It was unclear from Thursday night if someone died in the fire or if someone suffered from more serious injuries.
