Saved by the clock: Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley in reboot

Welcome back to Bayside High.

The Saved By The Bell launched its second teaser trailer on Monday, promising many hi-jinks for fans across generations.

The one-minute teaser is full of jokes, teases fun on teenage movie tropes, Kardashians, and even mocks one of the original’s iconic top episodes.

Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley are back in character as AC Slater and Jessie Spano, but the duo are all adults.

“Do you remember all the dances we had in the gym?” Jessie asks AC, who is now a gym teacher at the fictional school in Southern California. “Did you wish you could go back?”

“Sure,” he laughs.

But being back in the mix at the ultra-privileged school presents some interesting challenges.

“These Bayside kids didn’t exactly grow up to have a killer instinct,” admits Mario’s character as a football player proves his point by forgetting to get the ball before throwing a pass.

Like all high schools, popularity is the key.

And queen bee Lexi (played by Josie Totah) makes it clear when she names the first Calabasas family as a companion.

“I have a Kardashian coming for lunch,” she announces.

‘WHO? Rob?’ asks her friend.

Lexi is stuffed and tells him: ‘Shut up. He’s still in their family.

Veteran Saved By The Bell fans were in for a treat when Mac Morris (Mitchell Hoog), the privileged son of now governor of California Zack (played by original Mark-Paul Gosselaar) tried to lure candy two-shoes Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez) with some illegal pills.

Elizabeth Berkley barges in and knocks the bottle out of Mac’s hand when I’m so excited about The Pointer Sister playing in the background.
