Huawei Y9s: mid-range with Google applications; personal opinions

Here are the opinions and prices of Huawei Y9 Romania. We start this new week in November with a recently released Huawei smartphone.

To be honest, we have a weakness for the Chinese manufacturer's phones. Every time we have to write an article about a Huawei device, we do it with great joy and enthusiasm (maybe enthusiasm is very much said).

We no longer want to keep you in suspense and specify that today's article is focused exclusively on the latest Y9s. Before we put some of the most important hardware points on the device in the foreground, we have three details for you (hopefully interesting 🙂).

By Y9's name, the smartphone seems to be an improved version of Y9 201

9 (an official debut in October 2018). For the most part, it is. Both phones are based on the Huawei Kirin 710 chipset, but the new device has various welcoming hardware upgrades.

Another cool thing (we think) striking similarity (the term is a bit exaggerated, but we seem to be 🙂) with the smartphone Honor 9X Pro. After carefully looking at the specifications, I discovered that there are also differences on the connection page. So we have two different aspects 🙂

The Honor terminal is powered by the Huawei Kirin 810 chipset. In addition, the Honor 9X Pro is only available in the Chinese market. This makes us believe that the Y9s are the rest of the world version of the 9X Pro smartphone.

The third (and last) specification is about price. The smartphone is priced at $ 239 and is currently only available in the Middle East (Iraq).

We believe that Huawei will soon launch the unit for buyers in Europe (implicitly Romania). In this context, we can expect the price of the unit to be 239 euros (about 1200 lei). Maybe the price from us in the country will get some additions and the final cost will go up to 1400 lei.

# Huawei Y9's opinions and price – According to the pictures on the official site, yes. I studied this issue in more detail and gave an article published by the Polish website komorkomania.pl.

As far as we could understand (Google Translate), Honor 9X Pro (based on Y9) is a phone that has received Google certification.

This happened before Huawei got a US government ban from using Google services. Due to the slightly smaller differences between the Y9s and the Honor 9X Pro, the Y9s probably took the certification issued from the Honor smartphone.

And now we are highlighting the coolest hardware elements 🙂

# Huawei Y9's views – Pop-up selfie camera up and fingerprint scanner on the page

Like the Huawei P Smart Z smartphone, the new Y9s have a pop-up selfie -camera. It comes with a 16-megapixel sensor. Interesting and cool 🙂

The official site mentions that the front camera has AI beauty technology (intelligent beauty), which delivers beautiful selfies even in low light. Given the quality of Huawei products, we have no reason to question the manufacturer's claims 🙂

As a personal opinion, we like this type of design with the selfie pop-up camera. It allows a real full screen. The bigger the screen, the better 🙂

We leave the selfie room and go to the right side of the smartphone. Here is the fingerprint scanner, which is nothing unusual. We had the opportunity to test the Motorola Moto Z3 Play, a smartphone that has a fingerprint sensor on the side.

The interesting thing about the Huawei terminal is that the fingerprint scanner is embedded in a physical button, which when pressed, turns the unit on / off. Strong 🙂

# Huawei Y9's reviews – Fast storage, high memory and high capacity storage

Given that the handset is based on the Honor 9X Pro, mostly the new Y9 : probably have indoor storage with UFS 2.1 technology. That's a big plus 🙂 Other obvious pluses are the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM combination and the generous 4000 mAh battery (USB C charging).

So far everything good and beautiful 🙂 Appearance What we don't like about the battery is 5V / 2A 10W charging. This is not a fast charge 🙁 But it is not surprising that the device lacks a fast charge. And the Honor 9X Pro model, on which it is based, has 10W charging.

# Huawei Y9's reviews – Premium design, good display and triple head camera (with 48MP sensor)

Huawei said specializing in making some very elegant phones and the new device is no exception to the rule 🙂 The back of the unit (made of glass) has intense curves on both sides and the frame (we suspect it is made of metal) has a thin profile. [19659002] The front is as elegant as the back and it depends on the large screen without thick edges and notches. Excellent 🙂

By the way, it does not sit well on the design page. The screen has some specifications that can be characterized as solid. Nothing surprising from a mid-range Huawei-branded terminal 1965

We have 6.59-inch LTPS TFT LCD panel, 91 percent screen-to-body ratio, FHD + resolution (2340 × 1080 pixels) and a little under 400PPI (391).

And now it's the main room. We assure you it's worth it. The camera has a triple image setting and some attractive features. The camera module (which sits elegantly on the back of the glass) contains the trio with 48MP + 8MP sensors (120-degree ultra-wide sensor) + 2MP (bokeh sensor).

# Huawei Y9s views – The 48-megapixel model Sony IMX586, the same engine that powers the dual camera system from the Motorola One Vision smartphone. We remind you that we have tested the One Vision terminal and our review can be read here.

The triple camera on the Huawei smartphone has good equipment such as PDAF (fast focus), AI technology, LED flash, Night Mode (night photography), video stabilization function, 1080p video 30fps etc.

 Huawei Y9's reviews

Here are the rest of the technical specifications

  • Android 9.0 Pie (EMUI interface 9.1)
  • MicroSD card slot (max 512 GB), Dual SIM, 4G LTE, FM radio, 802.11 b / g / n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB C port, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / BeiDou, 3.5 mm jack
  • Sensors – light, gyroscope, compass, gravity
  • Colors – black, blue
  • 163.1 x 77.2 x 8.8 mm and 206 grams
  • Accessories – Foil, Case

The connection part of the unit is not at all similar to the Honor 9X Pro (which has Bluetooth 5.0 , WiFi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac). We notice that 802.11 ac WiFi is sticking to Y9s, which is a minus.

The new Huawei Y9 is a good middle class, but the phone lacks some important things and it is difficult. to be ignored. Let's say we can overlook the lack of dual band WiFi.

But the phone does not have a powerful / modern mid-range chipset and the lack of fast charging does not leave a good impression.

In addition, we do not know how long Huawei will go with the launch of new devices based on terminals that already have Google certification. Google is likely to stop providing services to these new devices.
