What would games be like right now about the insanely popular title Fortnite did not exist? It is obviously something we will never know, but if the former Epic Games production manager Rod Fergusson had come his way, we could have found out.
In an interview at Game Informer Show podcast at E3 2019, Fergusson – now head on The Coalition (the developer behind the series Gears of War ) – explained how he "attempted to interrupt" Fortnite before leaving Epic and revealed that the game did not match its own standards. 1
"As a production manager then the game had not gone my field for something we should have continued to continue."
Fergusson claims he has not lost any sleep over the game's success and also assured Game Informs that he was "super happy" for Epic.
