Raiders Pro Bowl guard Richie Incognito reportedly suspended two games after the funeral home

When Raiders signed guard Richie Incognito in late May, they must have been well aware that he could face discipline from the league after several legal incidents from 2018 which were extremely prevalent. On Friday, NFL finally sentenced Incognito.

As first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, Incognito has been suspended two games to violate the league's personal conduct policy.

Specifically, refers to an event that occurred at a funeral home in August under the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. During the current incident Incognito wanted to cut his deceased's father's head and threatened to shoot burial workers if they did not give him access to his father's body according to the police report. Police found firearms in their truck. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly behavior in March, two months before the Raiders signed him.

Incognito is best known for his role in Jonathan Martin's bullying scandal who tormented the dolphins in 2013. He spent the whole of the 2014 season out of the league but returned in 2015 to play for the bills. He spent three seasons in Buffalo and earned three trips to the Pro Bowl, but retired after the 2017 season with reference to health problems only to unretire in May 2018. ] One year later, Incognito found his new NFL home in Oakland after a couple of erroneous incidents including the one that got him interrupted.

With Raiders, Incognito, 36, should start to the left guard. While he is out against the Broncos and Chiefs in weeks 1 and 2, Denzelle Good should fill in for him. Incognito will be eligible to return to the Raiders Week 3 date with the Minnesota folds.

Given his story outside the field, Raiders' decision to sign Incognito was a controversial one. But in the field, Incognito – a four-hour Pro Bowler – should help the Raiders. He will be asked to pave the way for rookie to drive back Josh Jacobs while Derek Carr – a quarterback who often crumbles under pressure – with adequate protection.
