São Caetano do Sul registered only one case of yellow fever in recent years. And so, imported when the transfer takes place elsewhere. In order for the city to be free from the disease, it is important that people who travel to forest areas are vaccinated at least 1
Immunization is open to people aged nine months to 59 years who have never had a yellow fever vaccine or without evidence of vaccination. Currently, all the states in the southeast, south, midwest and northern part of the vaccine recommendation area, except for Maranhão and some municipalities in Bahia, Piauí and Alagoas, are in the Northeast. In São Paulo, the highest incidence of falls is in the Ribeira Valley, a region that includes the southern part of the state, including part of the coast.
Yellow fever is transmitted by a mosquito (not monkeys) infected with the virus. In the forest areas, through Haemagogus or Sabethes. Aedes aegypti (dengue-transmitting mosquitoes, zika and chikungunya) can spread yellow fever in the city center, but it has not been for decades.
In addition to D-Day, the yellow fever vaccination campaign runs until July 12, in all basic health units (UBS) in São Caetano, always from Monday to Friday.
