Controversial photos were taken during the chemistry degree at Bhagat Pre-University College in Haveri, Karnataka, Southwest India. They show students who, while writing the exam, have cardboard boxes with holes cut on their heads. The drawers were designed to prevent removal.
India. Students wrote an exam with cardboard boxes on their heads. They would bring boxes themselves
When photos of students with cardboard boxes on their heads circulated on the internet, the school apologized for the situation. The school authorities explained that the school had implemented this unusual measure against cheating on an "experiment" basis after news that it was being used in another facility. The examination with cardboard boxes on the head would take place with the students' consent. In addition, they would bring their own boxes.
Local authorities also responded to news about the use of boxes during the exam. Deputy Director of the Local Council for Preschool Education SC Peerjade called this practice "an inhumane idea in the examination room" – writes "The Times of India". Peerjade would also require the school
to immediately stop such practices and encourage students to report such cases to the competent authorities.
– It is inhumane and civilized society will never accept such an idea. I hope this will never happen again, ”commented Peerjade.
