A photo of a prisoner who managed to get his hands on the coveted Popeye's Chicken Sandwich has the internet to go to rest.

The pictures, which were originally posted by Frank Gutta on Instagram and later made the rounds on Twitter, show the prisoner ready to drop by America's latest food diss.

"Trying to see what all the hype attack," Gutta created the photo, which was published on his Instagram stories. In another photo, he captioned: "Thank you Bae."

The inmate is seen sitting on a cot and posing with the sandwich which was apparently brought to him by a companion.

The image quickly went viral and generated many comments on Twitter.

"I don't even want to know how it got in there," one person tweeted.

Another Twitter user wrote: "Will say that this Popeye's sandwich [sic] is enough but the luck I felt for the guy getting that sandwich outweighs everything."

Some Twitter users were less concerned about how the prisoner got the chicken sandwich and more interested in how he could take a photo and post it to Instagram.

"You can have phones in jail ??" said one person.

"Will we talk about the fact that he has an iPhone there?" Wrote another person.

Others questioned whether he was actually in a prison cell or not.

"Is he in jail or a dorm?" Someone tweeted. “They look the same. Maybe he's just trying a chicken sandwich on a study break. "
