LOS ANGELES (AP) – A member of a team searching for a lake in Southern California after a missing TV star said on Sunday that he is confident his crew will have a clearer idea of where to go in the lake to find her, reported one newspaper.
Robert Inglis of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Search & Rescue Team told Us Weekly that actress Naya Rivera sent a family member a picture of her 4-year-old son, Josey, in front of a bay, before she disappeared July 8 after diving into Lake Piru .
“A picture was sent to a family member showing the boy on the boat at a bay,”
A timestamp in the photo shows it took 90 minutes to two hours before the boy was found alone on the pontoon boat, the newspaper reported.
Inglis told Us Weekly that the area where the photo was taken and the location where the boat was found were starting points for authorities before the search was expanded.
“We sent our dive members to these two locations and searched for them a lot,” he told Us Weekly.
Rivera remained missing as of Sunday evening.
Authorities said Thursday they believe Rivera, 33, drowned in the lake. Her son found the boat.
The boy told investigators that he and his mother were bathing and that he was back on the boat, but “his mother never made it out of the water,” Sheriff’s Sgt. Said Kevin Donoghue.
Rivera began acting at a young age, but she gained national attention and played a lesbian teenager on “Glee,” which aired from 2009 to 2015 on Fox.
