Pinay snubbed NAIA for smuggling Pab.8.8 M shabu

MANILA – A Filipina passenger was arrested for attempting to smuggle 6 kilos of shabu with a street value estimated at P40.8 million upon arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Friday.

In a press release, the customs office said that Filipina arrived at NAIA terminal 3 at 4am from Siem Reap, Cambodia via a Cebu Pacific flight 5J258.

The drugs were found after her backpack was subjected to x-ray scanning.

"Her luggage was subjected to 1

00% physical examination, where customs personnel found white crystalline substances in two handbags that were inside the backpack that were further concealed in a tea-foil package," said BOC's statement. [19659003] A field test was conducted and the substance tested positive for shabu.

The passenger and the seized shabu were handed over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for Criminal Procedure for Violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (Republic Act 9165) and Customs Modernization and Customs Act (CMTA).
