OnePlus 7 vs. OnePlus 7 Pro: What to buy?

OnePlus 7 Pro

OnePlus 7 is one of the best value for money you will find in 2019. OnePlus launches the device for less than OnePlus 6 retailers in India, and what alone should tell you how good a deal it is. The fact that it comes with a Snapdragon 855, UFS 3.0 storage and the same 48MP camera as OnePlus 7 Pro is the icing on the cake.

OnePlus 7 Pro is the most ambitious phone the company has released so far, with a fantastic new design that lacks any features. The 90Hz QHD + screen is absolutely stunning and it will change how you use the phone. The hardware is on the bleeding edge, and overall, OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the best devices you'll find under $ 800.

  • Over the past three years, OnePlus has dominated the value of the flagship space by constantly undermining its rivals. The things are different this year – the Chinese manufacturer is making its mark in the advanced space with the OnePlus 7 Pro, which has an incredible 90Hz display, a stunning hook-free design and the latest hardware available today. But at the same time, the company has released OnePlus 7, which has the same design as last year's OnePlus 6T, but with much of the underlying OnePlus 7 Pro hardware.

Two phones aimed at completely different audiences

OnePlus 7 Pro vs. OnePlus 7: What should you buy?

I'm not going to bury the leader here – OnePlus 7 Pro has a higher-travel view with 90Hz update rate, three rear cameras and a 4000mAh battery with 30W fast charge. It's the three biggest differences between OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7.

With a 90Hz monitor and the top edge, OnePlus 7 Pro is the fastest phone I've ever used.

I'll work out some of these points: The 90Hz screen is obviously the highlighting feature of OnePlus 7 Pro, and it makes a big difference in daily use. I've used the device a lot, and the higher refresh rate combined with the hard hardware offered makes OnePlus 7 Pro the fastest phone I've ever used.

Everything is loaded directly and the 90Hz screen eliminates any delay any time. All interactions are lubricious, and it has been an absolute pleasure to use the phone.

At the same time, OnePlus 7 has a more modest FHD + panel with a standard 60Hz refresh rate found on most phones today, two rear cameras and a 3700mAh battery with 20W fast charge. If it seems familiar to you, it's because OnePlus 7 is nothing but an updated version of OnePlus 6T. So essentially this is the OnePlus 6TT.

OnePlus 7 is a mashup of 6T and OnePlus 7 Pro, and the combination works pretty well.

It actually has exactly the same panel as the 6T – a 6.4-inch optical AMOLED display – as well as the same 3700mAh battery, the same 16MP front camera, the same vibration engine and the fingerprint sensor on the screen, and the same identical design. There is a new red color alternative that looks particularly interesting, but besides that this is OnePlus 6T that we are all familiar with.

But before you reject OnePlus 7 completely, there are some things to note. It has the same Snapdragon 855 chipset as OnePlus 7 Pro, as well as the same 48MP rear camera. There are also stereo speakers, UFS 3.0 storage and identical software.

So what you actually get with OnePlus 7 is a device with the design of 6T and internal hardware from OnePlus 7 Pro. And it is a combination that works really well.

    OnePlus 7 is obvious choice

OnePlus has done it again. With the OnePlus 7 series, customers get more choice. There is OnePlus 7 for those looking for value, and OnePlus 7 Pro is aimed at those who want the absolute best that the brand has to offer. It is a smart move that makes it possible for the brand to play on two fronts.

OnePlus has always been about delivering value – in 2019, it's OnePlus 7.

Essentially, OnePlus 7 is aimed at such as POCO, Honor and any other value flagship brands that will roll out devices below $ 500. OnePlus's decision to release the phone in markets such as the UK and India confirms so much, because this is where we will see Honor 20 Pro and what POCO decides to start later this year.

OnePlus 7 Pro goes up against true flagship from similar Google and Samsung. The 90Hz screen is absolutely stunning, as is the rest of the hardware. OxygenOS continues to be my third-party favorite, and while I believe OnePlus still has a lot of work to do on the front of the camera, OnePlus 7 Pro is a great alternative to the Galaxy S10 + and Pixel 3 in the US. the fact that OnePlus does not sell the standard OnePlus 7 in the US should give you an indication of its strategy this year.

If you are in India, my task would of course be OnePlus 7. The value offered makes it a phenomenal purchase in 2019, and basically you get the bulk of the same hardware as OnePlus 7 Pro at a significant discount.

Certainly, OnePlus 7 Pro has a silky 90Hz display and a built-in design, but I don't think it's worth extra $ 16,000 ($ 230). OnePlus 7 Pro has more cameras on the back, but the telephoto and wide-angle lens is not as good and OnePlus 7 has the same primary 48MP sensor. OnePlus has always been about delivering excellent value and OnePlus 7 is the one in 2019.

For the rest of the world, OnePlus 7 Pro can prove to be better value – it's £ 649 in the UK compared to OnePlus 7 at £ 499, for example .

    Mind value

    OnePlus 7

The value has a new name.

OnePlus 7 costs much less than its predecessor and offers much more. It is the definition of value, and you only get more for the money with the device. Sure, it has the same design as 6T and some hardware elements, but you still get a 48MP camera, Snapdragon 855, UFS 3.0 storage and stereo sound for just bara 32,999 ($ 470).

    Smooth as silk

    OnePlus 7 Pro

Quick specifications with a price tag to match.

OnePlus 7 Pro is an ideal exhibition for the Chinese manufacturer. The 90Hz screen does everything silky smooth, the faster the design makes the screen much more immersed and this is one of the fastest phones you will use in 2019. If you want the absolute best that OnePlus has to offer, then OnePlus 7 Pro is the device to get.
