The Ministry has asked the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) to prepare a model for the program, writes the newspaper.
NIPH has recommended that the entire population should be revaccinated every ten years against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough and polio.
At the same time, the institute says that some Adults, among them newly arrived immigrants, may lack basic vaccination and need measles and rubella vaccines.
– This is important for maintaining immunity to some diseases. A vaccination program for adults, similar to the childhood vaccination program and the influenza vaccine, will ensure the same offer for everyone, says chief physician Preben Aavitsland at FHI.
