The Indianapolis Colts, New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams are among DMan's predicted winners against the spread for NFL Week 15. Entertainment purposes only.
I am picking all NFL games against the spread for the fourth straight season. For continuity purposes, I will use MGM Mirage lines via vegasinsider.com as of Wednesday afternoon unless noted.
Week 1: 8-7-1
Week 2: 6-9-1 Week 3: 9-7
Week 4: 7-8
Week 5: 8-7
Week 6: 8-7
Week 7: 9-4-1
Week 8: 7-7
Week 9: 5-8
Week 10: 6-7-1 Week 11: 8-10
Week 12: 8-7
Week 13: 6-10
Week 14: 7-9
Week 14 recap: How bad was it? I won @ Miami +7.5 over New England (Dolphins, 34-33) and @ Oakland +10.5 across Pittsburgh (Raiders, 24-21) – and still finished 7-9.
One reason for the failures was Minnesota's overpaid quarterback, Kirk Cousins. I had the Vikings +3.5 at Seattle on Monday night. Cousins were just there in a 21-7 loss, a game in which the Vikings trailed, 6-0, and had the ball in Seattle territory late in the fourth quarter.
Thursday, Dec. 13
L.A.. Chargers at Kansas City
The line: Chiefs by 3.5
Skinny: In Week 14, Chargers won but did not cover the bad Bengals at home (favored by 14; won, 26-21). Therefore, I'm not going to trust them at Kansas City in Week 15.
The Pick: Chiefs, 31-25.
UPDATE: Chargers beat 14-point deficit in fourth quarter and won, 29-28. (0-1 ATS)
Saturday, Dec. 15
Houston at N.Y. Jets
The line: Texans by 6
Skinny: Texans (9-4) are not going to go from winning nine in a row to losing two straight. Texans' offense, away from climate-controlled conditions, struggles to keep the Jets in it for a half. Then Jets (4-9) do what they do.
The pick: Texans, 24-17.
UPDATE: Texans won, 29-22. (1-1 ATS)
