Nevada DETR employee tests positive for COVID-19 at Las Vegas call center | coronavirus



LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – The Nevada Department of Employment, Education and Rehabilitation announced on Sunday a Las Vegas employee insurance call center employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The department became aware of the case on Saturday, according to a press release from the agency.

Call centers were closed immediately, DETR said. The employee is quarantined without any immediate exposure risk to the public as the facility was closed to the public in mid-March.

DETR said it notified appropriate staff and deep cleaning of the workspace. All claims handled in Southern Nevada will be handled by UI̵

7;s Call Center in Carson City in the meantime, DETR said.

During this period, applicants are encouraged to use online services as much as possible. It was not clear how long the closure would last. DETR also recommended filing early in the morning, at night or on weekends.

The pandemic unemployment system (PUA) and call center will not be affected, says DETR. People can register online at www.employnv.gov or call (800) 603-9681.
