Google Maps for Android users can now adjust their public profile from the app. Until now, the app only allowed access to the points from the Local Guide feature if users had registered for it.
The new tab My profile gives users more control over the information that others have. see about personal contributions to Google Maps. My profile which can be found under the app's menu button, makes it possible to edit the profile name and the photo, and among other things add a short biography. The news was first discovered by AndroidPolice.
The function collects an overview of all previous contributions to maps at the touch of a button and also provides access to the more advanced Profile Settings . At the bottom is a feature to show or hide all contributions in your profile. Immediately below is a switch that tells the user whether he wants to share his profile with the companies he is following or not.
Google adds the new tab My profile today automatically via server-side app update. The feature first seems to work for Android; the tab is not yet visible on the editor's iOS devices.
