Both companies confirm this after reporting in FD.
The raids were ordered by the spectacle chain EssilorLuxottica, the manufacturer of sunglasses brands Ray-Ban and Oakley. The French-Italian company is the intended buyer of GrandVision, but has recently had a heated conflict with takeover and with HAL. Such raids are rare.
EssilorLuxottica believes that GrandVision and its owners are obstructing information about the measures the eyewear chain has taken to overcome the corona crisis. The group also considers that in part as a result of this, the agreement entered into during the takeover was violated. This can use EssilorLuxottica to close the deal or renegotiate. When the corona pandemic broke out, GrandVision closed a large part of its more than 7,000 stores.
GrandVision, the parent company of the Pearle and Eye Wish optical chains, claims that it is certain of the action brought by EssilorLuxottica.
