This fall, Huawei is expected to unveil its new Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro. Although leaks on these products are very rare today, leakers OnLeaks has partnered with the sites HandsetExpert and Price Baba to publish 3D renderings of the Chinese brand’s future star phones, created from virtual models dedicated to factories. Given the design of these new devices, it is a sure bet that the photo will once again be in the spotlight.
A massive camera module
Huawei’s circular camera module was introduced last year with the Mate 30 series, and should come back with the 2020 generation. Wider and thicker this year, the latter should include four giant P40 Pro photosensors. Their properties are still unknown but the appearance of these modules leads us to believe that the Mate 40 will have an ultra wide angle, a telephoto and a ToF sensor in addition to its main camera while the Mate 40 Pro will be the most spoiled with a periscope zoom and an extra sensor whose function we do not yet know (perhaps a telephoto lens with a zoom level lower than the periscope?).
At the front, the two devices should have the right to a dual camera module hidden in an ultra-thin punch … but extremely wide. Hopefully the other sensor is ultra wide angle (for group selfies) and not depth measurement.
Any other leaks soon?
The months of September and October are approaching, Mate 40 should be talked about in the coming weeks. OnLeaks understands that the classic model will have a curved 6.4-inch OLED panel while the Pro version is entitled to 6.7 inches. On the other hand, we are in full vagueness on a par with the characteristics. Based on the habits of the Chinese manufacturer, we can already imagine that the successor to the Kirin 990 processor will equip these devices. On the other hand, on the software side, it is unlikely that Donald Trump will lift the US embargo given the current geopolitical context. It will therefore be necessary without Google. Given the number of ads for AppGallery, this prospect does not seem to scare Huawei.
