Launch of “Boost with Facebook” to support Moroccan SMEs

A program called “Boost with Facebook”, which aims to train 1,000 SMEs across the UK to support them in the economic recovery, was launched on Tuesday in Casablanca, at the initiative of Facebook, in collaboration with LaStartupFactory.

This global program from the web giant was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economy and aims to equip very small businesses (VSE) and small and medium-sized enterprises with marketing skills. they need digital technology to increase their online presence and compete in the digital economy.

“Boost with Facebook”

; will be implemented nationally by LaStartupFactory with the support of the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and implemented in collaboration with the Attijariwafa Bank Foundation and the Morocco Federation of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Offshoring (APEBI). LaStartupFactory will lead the implementation work throughout Morocco as part of its mission to promote technology and innovation in the country, while APEBI and the Attijariwafa Bank Foundation will primarily support public awareness.

Speaking at the launch of this program, CEO and founder of LaStartupFactory, Mehdi Alaoui, stressed that “2020 has been a difficult time for companies around the world, including Morocco”, noting that with the help of Facebook, “we have adapted the program for to include modules that specifically address the need to stay in touch with and retain customers during the pandemic, as well as review their existing strategies for delivering products and solutions “.

Ramez Shehadi, CEO of MENA on Facebook, said for his part that “the challenges that SMEs continue to face as a result of Covid-19 are significant”. And to support: “We are determined to support them so that they recover and when it is time for them to succeed”.

“We have an important role to play and provide the digital skills needed for start-ups and SMEs to survive, recover and pivot online,” he said, recalling the launch of a campaign to MENA-wide, # LoveLocal, which provides online resources and tools for small business owners for advice and training.

The curriculum for the “Boost with Facebook” program has two different components, namely the beginner’s path, which is aimed at companies with limited online presence and is ready to begin its digital adventure and the advanced path dedicated to companies that want to take their online presence. to the next level.

These modules are designed to help SMEs deal with the business challenges posed by the pandemic. The program will offer virtual training sessions, available in French and Arabic.
