Microsoft Edge has a sweet game to play while offline

Microsoft is determined to one-up Google wherever possible with its Chromium-based Edge browser, and it includes one of the key areas: the sweet mini game you can play while offline. After a few months of preview, Microsoft has updated the Edge with a new Surf game (available anytime by connecting edge: // surfing to the address bar) which returns to the old SkiFree game from Windows earlier. This is definitely more sophisticated than skipping a dinosaur over cactus plants in Chrome – you can take it surprisingly seriously for a game that will tide you over for a few minutes.

At the heart of it is an endless runner where you surf around obstacles and are one step ahead of a crow. However, there are also object-based time trials and zigzag (really, slalom) modes. You can also use a variety of inputs that include your mouse, keyboard, touch, or even a gamepad with haptic feedback. High visibility and low speed modes help with the difficulty, and there are promises of “some secrets.”
