The popular developer Toby Fox has been appreciated by fans because of the wonderful Undertale a successful independent title that created virtually alone.
One of the game's main characters, Sans was confirmed as a suit for Mii-fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and fans got the news with open arms; however, there is no creative infringement on Nintendo as he has also created a song for Pokémon Sword and Shield .
In a new publication on the officer's page for Pokémon Toby Fox has written an interesting letter to all fans explaining how this happened:
Hello everyone! My name is Toby Fox. Have you heard of me before? It may be because I just said my name. Hahaha.
Jokes aside, aren't you interested in knowing how everything happened? Okay, I guess so, I guess.
Once upon a time, I created a role-playing game called UNDERTALE. For some reason, it seems that many people in GAME FREAK ended up as a fan of this game.
One day I noticed that Go Ichinose-san, one of the Pokémon composers, was following me on Twitter, so … I sent him a message from nothing.
We finally became friends and I was able to meet many other people from GAME FREAK. After eating sukiyaki with the members of the company one day, we went to a cafe. There, I ordered a green tea bottle, and I asked myself randomly if I could one day make a song for Pokémon …
… they said yes! Right there, in the cafe, they immediately told me a concept of a song I could do, and when I went home my heart burned with inspiration … a tune came into my head, and when I stumbled upon the workers in the dark, he sang it to me over and over again so as not to forget it.
In the end, it became the song … the song you can hear in the game!
It's a hard track full of explosive power. I wanted to show the energy and passion I felt when they asked me to create a song for Pokémon! Yeahh! Let's get wild, baby! Ah, but wait, wait a second. That's the only song I created, and you can't listen to it until you've completed the game, so … make sure you like GAME FREAK's music correctly first, okay? Adachi-san and Ichinose-san tried very hard … Don't rush the game just to listen to my song … (No one would really).
Oh, and it's obvious, but it's a great honor to be able to create music for GAME FREAK! I am very, very happy and grateful that I got to do this. So wait for the song and also for Pokémon Sword and Shield! Yamper yam yam!
PS: if you like it, tell GAME FREAK. They could invite me to eat sukiyaki again. (No one really would.)
