There is much to love about superhero movies: the stars, the forces, the VFX. But one of the best parts is by far costly choice. Superhero costumes come with their own unique set of challenges. They need to be tailored, and the need to look good both in static poses and in action sequences. Costume design can make or break a movie: as Ruth E. Carter's Oscar-winning afro-futuristic look in Black Panther or Ryan Reynold's poorly designed digital costume for Green Lantern . [1
"My entire career has been very female centered and I'm very proud of it. My two favorite cartoon letters grew up, were Iron Man and Rachel Summers – who's Phoenix ( Jean Gray and Scott Summers daughter in an alternative universe. She was my favorite character because she is so powerful. In the 90s, my favorite television show was Buffy, and for the first 10 years of my career – before I became a concept artist – I was best known for drawing the Tomb Raider comic books, so being able to work on the first accompanying female MCU superhero (Wasp) and also the first leader (Captain Marvel) is something I am very proud and honored to have done . Park shared some of his favorite keyframes from the movie, as well as his thought process behind the look. There are so many details embedded in Carol's costume that you might miss the first look. Oh yes, another reason to look at it again!
Comedy for movie: #CaptainMarvel My main inspiration when she designed her for the movie. Props for @McKelvie who made this amazing redesign back in 2012 for the amazing @kellysue series. I wanted to keep this breath in while it tells us we are telling in the movie. pic.twitter.com/mEU03K8e54

This is one of my favorite key images I have to illustrate at Captain Marvel. I love the silence and the silence of this moment. I usually do more action type keyframes so it was nice to do this for a change. #CaptainMarvel #thanos #next @ brielarson @MarvelStudios pic.twitter.com/tyM5xAiNvr
