Longtime radio host Art Bell, whose paranormal thematic show "Coast to Coast AM" was nationally syndicated, but Friday in his home in Nevada, reported the Las Vegas Review Journal. He was 72.

Bell's show was broadcast on about 500 North American radio stations during its peak in the 1990s. Bell's program fled from his hometown Pahrump before leaving late evening show 2002. He had a brief run on SiriusXM satellite radio in 201
Bell was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, on June 17, 1945. He was a doctor during the Vietnam War.
According to the Coast AM site, Bell was a FCC licensed radio technician at the age of 13. The site also said that Bell set up Guinness World Record for a solo broadcast marathon, in more than 116 hours, while working as a DJ at KSBK in Okinawa, Japan. That record has since been broken; Current land of 205 hours, 2 minutes, 54 seconds was set in 2016 by Stefano Venn at Radio BBSI in Alessandria, Italy, Guinness said on his website
