The Los Angeles Lakers came out of the All-Star break ready to play, as they defeated the Houston Rockets 1

11-106 at Staples Center on Thursday evening.

LeBron James led the way for the Lakers by 29 points, 11 rebounds and six assists and Brandon Ingram scored 27 points in the win

James Harden (30 points) extended his 30-point t range to 32 consecutive games, making it second to the NBA story before it is destroyed in a losing effort.

LeBron deserves the benefit of doubt when it will wear LA

No matter how difficult a situation can see, it is never a good idea to bet against LeBron James.

Just ask 2015-16 Golden State Warriors.

With his team set at 28-29 and in 10th place in the Western All-Star race, James was a string of 13 consecutive playoff appearances in danger, not

Knowing his team has little room for error on the route, the four-time MVP recently announced that he was ready to turn the switch

"It has been activated, "James said Wednesday according to ESPN.com Baxter Holmes. "… I'll be a little bit different a little earlier than I'd like to be in previous years."

It did not appear that Playoff LeBron would be enough against Houston early Thursday evening, as Los Angeles shot only 38 percent (19-of-50) from the floor and 26 , 3 percent (5-by-19) from three point range. Lakers who are not named Reggie Bullock just shot 2-of-16 (15.3 percent) behind the bow in the first two quarters. And a number of these misses were poor .

However, the Lakers were fortunate enough to be just six in the break with their brutal first half. And even when Houston started the second half on a 9-2-run, James got stuck with his teammates:

Los Angeles is led by as many as 19, gave the king up.

The Lakers closed the gap by closing the third on a 15-4 run and then finishing the comeback by exceeding the Rockets 28-16 in the final period.

James came up big with eight links fourth quarter points, I Ngram and Bullock (14 points, four pointers) also played a big role in the victory.

This marked the second time in four games that Los Angeles rallied from 18-plus for a win. It also did so in a 129-128 victory against Boston Celtics on February 7.

It is important to remember that Los Angeles was 20-14 when James went down with a lightweight Christmas day. It has shown the ability to play winning basketball for stretches when it is healthy.

With Thursday's victory, the Lakers sits just 2.5 games behind the eighth seed with 24 races to play. While ESPN Stats & Information (via Holmes) noted that the Lakers have the league's fourth hardest remaining schedule after the All Star race, Michael Lee of the Athletic has seen enough James over the years to know not to figure him out: [19659116] Michael Lee @ MrMichaelLee

Do you really want to bet against LeBron who makes the playoffs?

James's resume speaks for itself, and the three-hour master has earned the benefit of doubt.

What's next

Both teams come back in action Saturday. Los Angeles (29-29) will be heading for a slope against the New Orleans Pelicans, while Houston (33-25) comes to the Bay Area for a showdown with the Golden State Warriors.
