Keto diet plan: How to achieve weight loss eating these foods – explains an expert

The Keto diet is a low carb diet plan, much like the Atkins plan, even though it is higher in fat.

Keto-friendly foods include fish, meat, cheese, milk and low-carb vegetables and fruits, such berries.

Banana on the diet plan is pasta, bread, root vegetables and high carb fruit such as bananas.

So how can you make sure you get the diet right?

An expert told Express.co.uk what the British are getting wrong with the diet.

She also claimed that eating a dried vegetable can drastically increase your weight loss potential in the diet.

Sharon Brown of Bonafide Provisions told Express.co.uk dieters should eat more beets.

She said: "Beets themselves are not necessary or even recommended for those who follow a ketogenic diet, because beets are high in carbohydrates. So what is ketosis? Entering a state of ketosis is when your body switches from burning glucose or sugar to fuel to burn fat for fuel.

A ketogenic diet will be one that is rich in fat with limited carbohydrates, which the body converts into glucose.

A traditional ketogenic diet breaks down to about 60-75 percent fat, 15-30 percent protein and 5 to 10 percent carbohydrates.

Sharon added: "Unfortunately, many people try to take the ketogenic diet this macronutrial profile as a license to charge their plates with low-quality, obese foods such as processed meats and cheeses.

"
