KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) – Shortly after 5 p.m. On Friday, authorities on KCTV5 News confirmed that they had located the body of a child not far from the 34th and Steele area of KCK.
Officials TJ Tomasic with KCKPD said they are “pretty sure” that this is the body of a missing 3-year-old whose disappearance led to an Amber Alert being issued earlier today.
The police department said: “We are deeply saddened to announce that over the past 30 minutes our officers have discovered a body in the Steele block 3400 that we believe is the missing 3-year-old Olivia Jansen. We thank everyone who shared our posts and reached out with tips and offers of help throughout the day. For that reason, we wanted to share this information as quickly as possible. This is not the result we wanted, it is in fact the worst result. “

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation has issued an Amber Alert for a Kansas City, Kansas, 3-year-old who was reported missing Friday morning.
Officials say 3-year-old Olivia Ann Jansen was last seen at home in the 4400 block of Gibbs Road Thursday night.
Investigators said the child̵
Police said the family told investigators they searched the area around the home and then contacted police at the police headquarters around 8:30 p.m.
According to authorities, the child was last seen wearing a pink pajama top and pajama bottom in purple or teal.
Officials and fire crews searched the area around the home Friday morning with the help of search and rescue dogs and drones. Police also said it was given consent to search the home for evidence and did so.
Because of her age and search of the area, investigators believe the child was taken from home. However, they have no known suspect and no known suspect vehicle right now.
Police were then alerted to a second address in the 4700 block of Ottawa St. The address is linked to the family and the child, but no other information is available. During an update to the press around 2pm, police said they will also search the house.
During the update, they said they hope the baby is “safe and secure.”
According to the police, the family cooperates with the investigation. Detectives interview family members and try to learn more information that can help them with their investigation.
This Amber Alert has also been activated in Missouri at the request of KBI.
