Min) got more screentime in the show’s second season. Ben – aka Number Six aka The Horror – died during a mission when Hargreve’s siblings were teenagers. But his connection to Klaus Hargreeves (Robert Sheehan) allowed Ben to influence the story – to a limited extent.
IN Umbrella Academy Season 2, Ben and Klaus were able to reach new heights together. Although this eventually led to Ben̵

Throughout Umbrella Academy Season 2 taught Ben how to interact with the world in new ways. First, he could possess Klaus’ body to talk to his crush. Then Ben “743” successfully reached Vanis (Ellen Page)’s mind while she was being tortured by the FBI via an electric chair. He convinced his sister that she was not alone and prevented her from exploding the building, which would have led to the end of the world.
Despite this, Ben changed his life to save Vanya. It turns out that Number Six could have moved on after his death. But he was too scared then. So he stayed with Klaus for 17 years. Then Vanya realized that Ben could not go back, not even as a ghost, and would be forced to move on.

“I died 17 years ago,” Ben said. “All this, these years with Klaus, it’s been sauce. At least this time I have to say goodbye. “
Still, it was not really goodbye. In the end of Umbrella Academy The season 2 final, the six remaining Hargreeves siblings returned until April 2, 2019. As expected, they saved the world from the apocalypse. But they screwed up their own timeline.
Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore) was not dead and he claimed that he was not even Hargreeves’ adopted father. Meanwhile, Umbrella Academy was replaced by Sparrow Academy, led by a very different – and very lively – Ben.

In an interview with E! News published in August 2020, Min revealed that he did not know Ben would be resuscitated Umbrella Academy Season 2 final. So when the actor filmed his final scene for “743”, he really thought his character’s bow was on its way.
“I actually had no idea it was going to happen,” Min said. “They kept us all in the dark with the last scene of our season, until the end. So we had actually got a rough draft of episode 10. But the last scene had been left out. “
He added: “What’s crazy is that when I shot that scene with Vanya in episode nine, I actually thought it would be the end of Ben and the end of this character. So it was really emotional that day not only because Ben said goodbye to Vanya and his family, but Justin Min as an actor, I felt like I said goodbye to the show and the experience. “
But Min eventually found out that Ben was still alive from Umbrella Academy showrunner Steve Blackman.
“A couple of weeks after we shot that scene, I started legitimately packing my things, getting ready to leave Toronto,” Min said. “I’m getting this top secret email from Steve Blackman, our showrunner, who just sent out the last three pages of the script just to the actors, just to the seven family members.”
He continued, “Of course I opened it and I read it. I just screamed and screamed in the middle of my apartment in Toronto. “

As mentioned, Netflix has not yet been renewed Umbrella Academy Season 3. But Ben ends the second season leaving the door open for a new round.
“Bones that we meet at the end of ten are bodily,” Blackman told Cinemablend in August 2020. “He is from the real world and he is someone I think we should get to know if there is a season 3.”
Although it is likely that Ben who died and the new Ben at the end of the second season will feel completely different if and when the Netflix series returns.
“I think [Ben’s] forces can be quite similar. But when it comes to everything else, he is completely different, Min told IGN, noting deliberate changes in Ben’s appearance, from his hair to the scar. “We discussed all the ways to make him seem and feel as different as possible. He’s this … antagonistic figure for the family. So yes, it’s weird to play almost the complete opposite of a person you played. “
