Bieber said on Twitter late Friday that he appreciated the president who lobbied the Swedish authorities on behalf of the rapper. Previously, Trump had said that his administration worked to resolve the issue.
"I want my friend out" Bieber tweeted
. "I appreciate you trying to help him. But while you are in that @realDonaldTrump, can you also let these kids out of cages?"
Bieber referred to the ongoing situation at the border between the United States and Mexico, where some immigrant children remain in detention centers.
New accounts from the inside of the borders describe that the prisoners are kept in tight conditions without access to basic necessities such as blankets, toothbrushes and soap.
Trump hasn't replied to the Bieber's tweet, but said Saturday morning he had spoken to Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven to discuss A $ AP Rocky's case.
The president said Löfven "assured me that US citizens A $ AP Rocky will be treated fairly. Likewise, I assured him that A $ AP was not an aviation hazard and offered himself to take care of his bail or an alternative. "
A $ AP Rocky was arrested on July 3 after a confrontation in Stockholm where he faces serious accusations of assault, according to the CNN Swedish Affiliate Express.
On Friday, Stockholm's district court decided that he should remain in storage for a week while prosecutors terminate their investigation into a June 30 crisis that A $ AP Rocky is accused of being involved in.
