(Reuters) – A 13-year-old girl's escape from a country house, where she was imprisoned for three months by a 21-year-old Wisconsin man accused of murdering his parents, helping to break the case and she should be treated as a hero , the local sheriff said on Friday.

Thousands of volunteers and hundreds of law enforcement authorities had been looking around the clock around Barron after Jayme Clo's parents were found shot in the home, open door and the girl away.

Hundreds of locals had attended a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Riverview Middle School, which Closs attended, for her honor last month.
